Accreditation

We are proud to be an Accredited Member of Assistance Dogs International!

Assistance Dogs International (ADI) is the world leader in the Service Dog industry. They are a collection of non-profit programs that train and place Assistance Dogs. Maintaining an accreditation status is a testament to meeting ADI’s incredibly high standards in all aspects of our operation.

Mutts With A Mission became an ADI candidate in 2017 and achieved full accreditation status in 2019. We are proud to be 1 of 4 ADI accredited organizations based in Virginia.

 Why Accreditation Matters

International Recognition

Being an ADI accredited program is a testament to the level of training our Service Dogs receive. Because of our accreditation status, our Service Dog teams are recognized as legitimate internationally. This means our graduates meet Service Dog requirements internationally, can travel on international airlines, and more.

Veteran Benefits

For Veterans, receiving a Service Dog from an ADI accredited organization such as Mutts With A Mission makes a huge difference in benefits. Our Veteran graduates qualify to have all veterinary care covered by the Department of Veterans Affairs for the working life of their Service Dog. This incredible benefit is only offered to Veterans with a qualifying service-connected disability paired with a Service Dog from an ADI program.

Quality Service Dogs

As an ADI accredited organization, you can be confident that our program meets the highest standards in all aspects of their operations, including ethical treatment and training of dogs, ethical treatment of clients, solid service dog training, and follow-up care. The recipients of our dogs can be confident in their ability to effectively mitigate their disabilities, and the general public can be confident in the professionalism of our teams.
