CELEBRATING OUR
🎉NEW TEAMS🎉
Mutts With A Mission is proud to announce the placement of two new Facility Dog Teams and one new Service Dog Team! Vader, a 2½-year-old Black Labrador Retriever, has joined the Virginia State Police Department alongside Sgt. Diaz. Flynn, a 1½-year-old Yellow Labrador Retriever, is now serving as a Facility Dog at Magnolia Rose in Western Virginia. Honor, a 2-year-old Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, has been paired with her forever recipient and officially begun her career as a Service Dog.
All three dogs have successfully completed their rigorous training at MWAM and are now ready to make a difference in their new roles, thanks to the dedication of their incredible Puppy Raisers.
This past week, Vader, Flynn, and Honor each spent time meeting, bonding, and training with their new handlers during Transfer Camp, building a strong foundation for years of teamwork and service ahead. We look forward to celebrating these teams at next year’s annual graduation ceremony.
🎉Best of luck, Teams!🎉

TILLER!
Tiller is a dedicated Facility Dog trained by MWAM, serving the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority (MWAA) alongside his handler, a Lieutenant in the department. Additionally, Tiller was part of the team at MWAA who supported DCA airport staff, first responders, and families following the tragic plane crash in January. His gentle presence helps ease stress during challenging moments, fostering resilience and emotional healing.
What moment best shows Tiller’s heroism?
Tiller’s heroism shines in the quiet moments when he climbs into a lap and helps melt away stress. His gentle presence brings calm, comfort, and connection to those who need it most.

MWAM is grateful for the individuals and organizations who support our mission. Your generosity makes it possible for us to train more Service Dogs and provide them at no cost to deserving recipients.
Our Service Dogs help restore independence and freedom to their partners. During training, our SDiTs learn to pull a wheelchair, get help in an emergency, retrieve dropped items, turn on lights, and wake their handlers from night terrors - just to name a few.

THANK YOU, NORFOLK INTERNATIONAL AIRPORT, TSA
MWAM is proud to partner with the TSA team at Norfolk International Airport. Even during a busy morning, they not only kept passengers moving smoothly but also took the time to show our handlers and Facility Dogs how to navigate airport security. Their support helps prepare our teams for real-world travel!✈️
At Mutts With A Mission, we are committed to making a difference in the lives of our recipients, and our dedication shows. We are proud to be an ADI-accredited organization and to maintain a 4-star rating on Charity Navigator. These achievements reflect the hard work, care, and transparency that go into every Service Dog we train.

♥️MISSION MOMENT♥️
August 20 is National Accessible Air Travel Day. It is a day set aside to focus on the need for accessible air travel for people with disabilities.
From long security lines, crowded terminals, loud announcements, and tight cabins to TSA checkpoints and staying calm through turbulence, our dogs are trained to help their partner travel safely and independently.
Accessible air travel is not just about convenience—it is about freedom, dignity, and independence for the people we serve.✈️
